Ergonomic Evaluation Certification Program

Ergonomic Evaluation Course plus Matheson Team - Keene July 2009The Ergonomic Evaluation Certification Program is designed for those who want to gain a solid foundation in the performance of objective, defensible, and complete Ergonomic Evaluations. This is a practical, hands-on training program. You will come away with a battery of risk assessment tools for work tasks requiring strength, upper extremity dexterity and whole body endurance. Further you will gain the skills necessary to begin addressing basic ergonomic design issues in office and industrial work station layout situations. Throughout your career you will refer back to the knowledge gained here when you judge new evaluation tools or training programs.

Graduates of this course use the skills gained to establish or improve industry- and office-based Ergonomic Evaluation programs. While graduates do establish their own consulting practices, many add risk assessment and Ergonomic Evaluation to their existing product line of services. Those sent for training by large industrial or office-focused companies return to their worksites to provide risk identification and remediation services. The evaluation process taught in this course is based on current “best practice” standards. Tools learned include those based on NIOSH guidelines, ANSI protocols, and published industrial and clinical literature.

Hands-on experience will be acquired as teams of students perform Ergonomic Evaluations of various media-recorded work situations. If you are engaged in the field, please bring a media-recording of an interesting or challenging job site and/or workstation you have encountered. A digital media library of work tasks will be available to students; feel free to bring your own laptop with Window Media Player.

Certification

Those completing the course are eligible to apply for the Certified Ergonomic Evaluation Specialist (CEES) designation.
