Post-Offer, Pre-Placement Testing and Job Analysis

Job Analysis and Post-Offer, Pre-Placement Testing continue to be dynamic and growing arenas for the rehabilitation and injury prevention professional. This is an opportunity to utilize the skills and strategies learned in Functional Capacity Evaluation
and apply them in a preventive model by determining if individuals meet the essential functions of a particular job. Post-Offer, Pre-Placement Testing provides a balanced source of income to a facility and can be an entry to additional services with employers.
This comprehensive two-day course is designed to meet the needs of those new to Post-Offer, Pre-Placement Testing and for those with experience in test development and administration. Participants will learn how to complete a Job Analysis and then apply it to develop a Post-Offer, Pre-Placement test. Interactive discussion, videotapes and case studies will cover such topics as:
Day One
- Terminology, definitions and types of job analysis
- Performing a job demands defining evaluation
- Americans with Disabilities Act
- Identifying essential functions
- Identifying marginal functions
Day Two
- History and background of pre-employment testing
- Appropriate test selection
- Test development, validation and administration
- Clinic design including space, equipment, supplies, staffing and billing
- Marketing
- Data tracking and outcomes, including recent research on test effectiveness
- Test revision, and on-site testing
- Current national trends, issues, legal cases and references regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Course participants will receive a comprehensive course notebook with sample job analyses, sample test forms, consent and release forms, reference articles and comprehensive bibliography.
