Is the ASC Z365 form and index score based on assuming a career employment in the job? What about temporary workers who are filling a summer position or are seasonal employees. I'm thinking that the score is still valid and has usefullness, but I had someone ask the question and I didn't know exactly. Any thoughts?
Hi Merl,
Yes, your assumption was correct. The information from the ASC form is still valid and useful regardless of who is performing the task. Technically, the evaluator is looking at how the task is done so it should not matter who is doing the task or how long they have been in that position.
However, in order to observe the task being done and use the ASC form to evaluate that task, a human has to be performing the task. Therefore, selecting the appropriate human to observe becomes a question. Most vocational people will say that the person to watch is one who has been doing the job and knows the best way to do it. In my opinion, anyone who has been trained to do the task is sufficient to observe while doing the evaluation without compromising the validity and usefullness of the tool.
If there is a trained professional to do the task who is able to demonstrate the task for the evluation then he or she would be the best person to use if you want to remove any doubt that you observed the right person doing the task.
