I am new to ergonomics, took the certification course in July...so still learning....
Does anyone have any ideas on a good way to pad desk and table edges? Our staff keep hitting their legs on the sides? Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I work in a hospital so it would need to be a material that could easily be disinfected and hold up to the solutions.
Thank you,
Nicole
Not as much fun as the boat show but a lower cost option in another material. At the home improvement stores they carry coffee table edging which is a stick on foam product. Hope this helps.
Hi Jim,
Thank you very much for the information. I was able to locate many options on the internet under "rub rail." I had never heard of this. I think your right though.....a day trip to the boat show would be a fun "learning" trip!! Perhaps a boating trip to try the rubrail even better!! :D
Thank you very much, I appreciate your time.

Nicole,
"Rub rail" from a local boat shop might fit your application. Not sure what the edge of the desks/tables look like, but this might work. "Rub rail" is what boats have on the outer edge (widest part of the hull) that protects it from contact with other boats and pilons. It comes in a variety of widths and materials, and can be attached to many surfaces. It is also very durable and should be easily cleaned. You might also look into one of many online Ergonomics catologues, RMA's home page has a good list of links to many industrial/ergonomic suppliers. Look under "Matheson Resources" then "Recommended Links". Hope this helps.
P.S. I would go for the daytrip to one of the many boat shops in your state!
Thanks for the tip. I was unsure of the quality/durability/cleanability of such products, but that may work as well, and is probably cheaper. Thanks again!
