Labor laws vary from state to state-something you may wish to investigate and emulate.  Most employers/states stipuate that a break is standard after 2 hours of work.  You may want to seek clarification with a quick call to  your local office for the Department Of Labor.  This can also be a very tricky question to answer in that I am not 100% sure what you mean by "break".  If a low back patient needs a tool to manage their symptoms in sitting, but normally stand for work, make a sitting "break" something measureable, predicatable, and functional.  Working daily with the motivationally challenged, I have learned that "runs to the restroom" and "drinks of water" can cause problems in a group faster than a toddler with a marker.  RULES and agreement to these rules can be quickly and fairly established with a Work Program Contract.  Spell it all out.  Have them and you sign it.  Hope this helps!

Schedules used

Does anyone use a standard break time schedule for increased hours of WH?  Right now I have two people here for 4 hours, with a 15 minute break and then above that I am giving two 15 minute included breaks and half hour lunch on their own time. I just wanted to get an idea of other schedules.

Thank you, April
