We are now being asked to use ICD 9 codes for our evaluation paperwork. Does anyone use ICD 9 codes for work condtioning and which one (s) do you use?
97545 for the first two hours of work conditioning, 97546 for each additional hour.
Hi KThomas,
If no one responds with what codes they use, I might suggest checking out the below website. I was just on our Twitter account and I noticed that someone had posted the following:
CMS: You can't report ICD-10 codes early and you can't report ICD-9 codes late. It's a firm cutoff date.
And I thought that I remembered seeing "ICD-9" here on the forum somewhere. So, I would suggest just checking out his website and maybe even emailing him to ask any specific kinds of questions that you might have.

Hope this helps some,

Keep in mind that ICD9 codes are your diagnosis codes. If you don't have a book that you can look up the code or codes then you can always call the insurance carrier or physcian' office to find out which ones to use for that particular patient. And you have to be precise with these. For example we treated a patient with carpal tunnel syndrome (ICD9 code: 354.0) We tride to bill with the code of 354 for the diagnosis and it kept coming back as the wrong code. They needed the exact code of 354.0.
the 97545 for the first 2 hours and 97546 for each additional hour are CPT codes for billing your services. If memory serves me correct, these codes are group codes and there are books/manuals out there that can explain what these are for and how to properly use them.
hope that helps!
