Functional Capacity Evaluation Videos

Below are videos that are intended to further assist Matheson graduates or FCE equipment owners. You will find videos that show the lifting, dexterity and range-of-motion protocols that are used with the Matheson Integrated Lift Evaluation System (MILES) and Matheson Dexterity and Range of Motion Panel System (MPS). You will also find a cardio-respiratory Step Test video as well as Grip and Rapid Exchange Grip (REG) testing videos using both an isometric grip dynamometer (Jamar) and an electronic grip dynamometer. (Grip/REG testing and heart rate analysis of the Step Test are also used in an FCE to estimate a client's level of Physical Effort.)

The videos show how the tests are performed and administered. At the end of most of the videos, the FCE evaluator (Christina Howe - Matheson instructor) will make comments and note any important observations regarding the way the client performed the test.
