When you choose a Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) system, you are choosing to establish a relationship with the company that designed and supports the FCE protocol.

Here are some things to look for when selecting the company and the Functional Capacity Evaluation protocol:

  • A protocol based upon peer-reviewed research that is available to you as a resource
  • Research from wide range of industry and court tested resources, not only on-staff researchers
  • An FCE protocol that follows the Practice Hierarchy of safety, reliability, validity, practicality, and utility
  • A company that provides free support
  • A certification process designed to raise the standards of the field of work evaluation
  • A company that encourages evaluators to get as much cross training in evaluation methods as possible
  • Freedom to choose the equipment and tests used in your future evaluations, no forced purchases or per evaluation fees

There are at least 5 Functional Capacity Evaluation systems available on the market today.

As with any important decision, look around, ask questions, don't be sold by a story that sounds too good to be true!
